30 DAY CHALLENGE!!!

7.14.2010

Sooo the other day I was reading on one of the blogs I love following Inspired Mess! And I saw that she was going to start a 30 day fitness challenge. Here is a bit from her post...

Are you ready to take 30 days of your life and see what can happen???
There's strength in numbers and I hope you'll join me!
Beginning July 15th, for 30 days, I'll be doing the 30 Day Shred by Jillian Michaels.

It will kick my butt. But I need my butt kicked.
After seeing pics of myself from vacation (& deleting most of them), I need to kick it up a notch and get some results. I'll still be doing the Couch to 5K training but will be adding in this dvd each day.

If you haven't heard of the 30 Day Shred before, it's a 20 minute workout that combines strength training, cardio and abs. It's HARD and it WORKS.
I want to challenge myself and accomplish this.
Anybody else in?????

Here's what you need to do if you want to join me:
1. Take a before photo.
2. Take your before measurements.
(I'm going to measure hips, thighs, arms/biceps and waist.)
3. Comment here or e-mail me to let me know you're joining in! We can give each other support and encouragement the next 30 days!
4. Purchase the dvd or borrow somebody's. I've never seen it over $12 but somebody you know probably has it, so ask around!
5. Once we're finished with our 30 days, we'll celebrate our accomplishments together!!!!

I actually have this DVD already and I love it! I have been using it very sporadically since I bought it a couple of weeks ago. I hate exercise, so much. Dont get me wrong, I love being active but the second something is labels as exercise or a work out, I am immediately turned off. However, I am so out of shape. More so than I have ever been before and I hate it. I feel the effects of it and it is not a good feeling. And this DVD is actually not bad. It is quick and keeps you doing different things and it might even, dare I say, be fun. So here I am, putting it out there so that some one can hold me accountable. And maybe some of you would like to join? I am starting tomorrow. Im excited?

What do you think?

  1. I've done the Shred a few weeks ago and I definitely saw results. It's a really good and easy way to get some exercise in your everyday life. I want to start doing it again but it's so insanely hot right now in Paris, it's going to be like torture !

  4. Pretty awesome! I started a workout routine back in March, and for the first time in my life I actually stuck with it. One of the dvd's in my rotation is Jillian Michael's "No More Trouble Zones" which is a much longer (45 minute workout, plus 5 min each warm up/cool down) and it is, as she says "NO JOKE." Haha. I've actually been meaning to get this dvd as well because the Trouble Zones dvd is such a beast, and I'd like to have an alternative for days when a 50 minute workout just isn't in the cards. Either way...good luck! I am sure you will do awesome, and getting regular exercise just totally changes your outlook on everything! <3

I prefer the elliptical, my ipod and yoga.

I've been wroking my butt off at the gym with my friend this week and its so fun to be working out with someone. I'm definitely going to start doing Jillian more often after reading this! “But it’s hard to stay mad when there’s so much beauty in the world. Sometimes I feel like I’m seeing it all at once and it’s too much. My heart fills up like a balloon that’s about to burst. And then I remember to relax, and stop trying to hold on to it, and then it flows through me like rain and I can’t feel anything but gratitude for every single moment of my stupid little life.” — American Beauty
