My days have been so great lately. Today was simple and lovely and I couldnt have been happier.

I am not a mother yet, though I would be proud to call these kids my own. They really are 2 of the greatest kids ever and I love them so so much.
This on the other hand is my baby! He has recently discovered that sticking his nose through my sunroof is one of lifes simple pleasures. Just look at that face...I love him so much it hurts.

Our lives...

4.11.2011

“Our lives are not as limited as we think they are; the world is a wonderfully weird place; consensual reality is significantly flawed; no institution can be trusted, but love does work; all things are possible; and we all could be happy and fulfilled if we only had the guts to be truly free and the wisdom to shrink our egos and quit taking ourselves so damn seriously.” — Tom Robbins

sunshine + a school bus

4.08.2011

Today really has been beautiful. I started the day off with a jog. Day one of the couch 2 5k. Again. hehe. I tried this a year ago and never got into it, but now I really want to work at it and see how far I can get! I must get back in shape! This is getting ridiculous. Anyways. Back to beautiful today. After my jog Opal and I went to play with Dex a bit then to pick up Samson from school. On our way home I drove past the Grilled Cheese Grill, and immediately turned around! The sun shining on the food cart and parked schoolbus next to it was too much to pass up. The kids had never been there before and were pretty excited. THEN, as we pulled up we saw some good friends already in line! The kids' family friends Max and Will and their mommy. We had a wonderful lunch eating in the school bus and then "driving" the school bus. The kids are now napping and I am writing next to a sunlight drenched window. Days like today are what its all about.

 1. Little Will. Finger lickin good.
2. Samson sitting at the big kid section!
3. Max makin sure all the passengers are READY!?!?!
4. Will being too cute for words!

 Opal.
Before. During. After.
Happy girl. She ate hers and half of her brothers!

Drivers and the mirror! So so cute!

I have had a wonderful day so far and it even looks like I will be off a little early.
I have plans to crank out the rest of my website this weekend and RELAX!
What are you up to this weekend?

The sun came out...

4.01.2011

Today was an all around decent day. And for the week Ive had, decent is pretty darn wonderful. The sun decided to show up today. It was 65 and so so nice. Dexter is doing much better and I couldnt be happier. I had to cancel plans for an epic snowboarding trip with the ladies tomorrow to keep an eye on him and I will say Im pretty bummed about it. But, I am filling the weekend with plans meet with good friends, get some much needed work and editing done, and of course, snuggle with Puppy. But back to today...

The morning started off with this little cutie having some major melt downs. Turns out all she needed was an early snooze. She is the cutest.

After picking up Samson from school, the weather was so nice, we rolled all the windows down (even on the freeway, BIG DEAL) and laughed in the wind. So cute. So fun.
And our cute convo...
Samson: "We should think of a New Years Eve joke for mama!"
Me: "You mean an April Fools Joke?"
Samson: (slightly defeated)  "Oh, Ya."

After nap time we had our snack as a picnic out in the yard. It was a lovely end to the day.
Please disregard my greasy hair and focus on those two cute mugs. Its been a long week!

I am currently catching up with some work and making potential plans to meet up with friends. Just cant decide yet. Couch with the pup sounds soooo good.

Have a great weekend dolls.

par·a·chute

[par-uh-shoot] noun, verb, -chut·ed, -chut·ing.
noun
1.
a folding, umbrellalike, fabric device for allowing a person, to float down safely through the air from a great height.

“But it’s hard to stay mad when there’s so much beauty in the world. Sometimes I feel like I’m seeing it all at once and it’s too much. My heart fills up like a balloon that’s about to burst. And then I remember to relax, and stop trying to hold on to it, and then it flows through me like rain and I can’t feel anything but gratitude for every single moment of my stupid little life.” — American Beauty
