My life these days...

5.14.2010

Sorry Ive been MIA these days.
Life has been pretty crazy lately. Good crazy for the most part.
Tomorrow is the big moving day! I am very very excited. Pretty stressed. And a little sad. While I love the new loft, love that I will be living with the boyfriend, love the new neighborhood and so many other things about the new place, I am very sad to leave my downtown apartment. I adore this apartment. It is the first place I lived after moving here to Portland. I love living in the middle of all the action. I love my balcony overlooking all the crazies this city is home to. I am going to miss my roommate (my good friend from middle school) and having my neighbor/friend Adumb always "Kramering" in all the time. Its a good thing though. A good move. Literally.

The real time-suck these days though...DEX. My wonderful little pup. I am so in love with him already its insane. I am consumed with fear that I am not taking all the right steps or teaching him the right things in the right ways. I am on my second book by the wonderful Dog Whisperer, Cesar Millan.  Dexter is so great, he really is a good dog, so sweet and loving. But trust me he can be a baby devil. I am stressed to the max trying to give him everything he needs, while teaching him the rules of two households, and caring for him along side a toddler and a 4 year old all week. I know it will all pay off though. And snuggling with him every morning is worth every bit of trouble. Just look at that face!
My love.

  3. ahhhh SO CUTE!! i don't blame you for being in love with the guy.

advice on training (take it or leave it): everyone i have encountered while in veterinary school has advised against Cesar Millan. & i HIGHLY recommend Dr. Sophia Yin. not only is she a veterinarian, but she is trained in animal behavior. her website is: [askdryin.com]. i have seen her give talks a couple of times now & the woman is amazingly talented at what she does. if you want to know more, just let me know & i'd be happy to help!! :)

  15. Hope the move went well!

Your puppy is adorable! My puppy is now 7 months old. I also devoured Dog Whisperer books and stressed, stressed, stressed when I first got him. My advice? Kongs or any other chew toys stuffed with treats. Try Natural Balance, lamb flavour. It's actually a dog food, but he doesn't know that. Good luck!

par·a·chute

[par-uh-shoot] noun, verb, -chut·ed, -chut·ing.
noun
1.
a folding, umbrellalike, fabric device for allowing a person, to float down safely through the air from a great height.

“But it’s hard to stay mad when there’s so much beauty in the world. Sometimes I feel like I’m seeing it all at once and it’s too much. My heart fills up like a balloon that’s about to burst. And then I remember to relax, and stop trying to hold on to it, and then it flows through me like rain and I can’t feel anything but gratitude for every single moment of my stupid little life.” — American Beauty
